Last updated in Google Now launcher people working device to Android 4.1 to 4.4 are now seeing the same material design style as the ones who have the launcher installed on their device Lollipop.
Appearance does not fundamentally change if you update and your device is not Lollipop, but you will notice that the Google search bar at the top of the launch vehicle has a nice white color and animation are a little more life to them.
If you want to get the most financial aid in your life, but have not yet updated Lollipop, you definitely want to catch the latest version of Google Now Launcher and Google Search App.

It is not the Google Now Launcher app but the Google app that does this, just in case anyone goes to the store and finds they don't have a update. Looks pretty sweet I like the change in cosmetics to the Google Now screens and the app draw.

Still wish I could change the icon size, they too big on my Droid Ultra and takes up most of the space. If they fix that then I would be using it over the other launchers since it runs faster than them on my phones.
