Google refusing to fix bugs in Android 4.3 or up, even if these errors can expose critical vulnerabilities nearly one billion devices.

Security firm Rapid7 discovered a new exploit in the Android Browser version WebView, he got in touch with Google, to inform the company that is running Android 4.3 or below were vulnerable.

One obvious reason for Google, to stop fixing the Android Browser problem is that the company is actively move to get the manufacturers to stop using the possibilities of open source Android and replace them with the features of the license directly from Google.

Microsoft stops supporting older OS versions, why should Google continue to support older OS versions? Want better security? Get rid of that 4 year old $5 Tracfone you bought on QVC with triple minute deals.

We had this already. They can't, because in earlier android versions it's part of the actual OS and would require all of the carriers to push out an OTA to everyone. On newer versions, the webview is separate and can be updated via the Play Store.

Intentionally misunderstanding the reason and purpose of this policy does not protect you from being wrong. It's like saying that supermarkets are wrong for not taking back 2-week-old fruit that has gone bad. Think how much fruit would cost if that were the case.
