Instead of an inconspicuous black case, D-Link chose a bright red color.
These routers are designed for hidden away in some dark corner of the basement or tucked inside the enclosure.
Under the glossy appearance of such devices concealed dual-core processor with a clock frequency of 1.4 GHz (1 GHz if AC3200). That's more than enough muscle to push 4K of video to multiple devices in the home network or via a wireless connection or through the ports of Gigabit Ethernet.

In the future, I can get similar access point for less with the same speed. So future proof mean shelling out for unnecessary expense.

D-Link can make their routers look as fancy as they want. I still won't buy d-link networking equipment. I used d-link devices quite a few years ago because I was still a high school student and poor and anything electronic was paid out of my own pocket. No point in getting stuff that will fail on me in a year.

These new routers are turning out to be like the MACH shavers but with antennas. Next version will have 8 spider like antennas. LOL.
