LG G Flex 2 expected be announced at CES 2015

Back in May, we told you that LG was planning to release a sequel to its G Flex smartphone before the end of 2014. However, we’re now hearing that the new handset won’t be introduced this year. 

According to Android Authority and unnamed sources, LG will officially announce the second generation G Flex - most probably called G Flex 2 - at CES 2015 in early January.

Just like the original G Flex (pictured above), the new model should be curved and flexible, sporting a P-OLED display. However, it’s said that its screen will be smaller than the one featured by the current G Flex, while also offering a higher pixel resolution. As you may know, the original G Flex offers a 6-inch screen with 720 x 1280 pixels - not exactly the best resolution for such a large display. 

Another feature that the LG G Flex 2 should keep is the self-healing back cover. There are no other details about the handset at the moment, but we can probably safely assume that it’s going to run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. 

Last month, we heard that the G Flex 2 would be launched by Sprint in the US. Since the original model was released not just via Sprint, but also via AT&T and T-Mobile, we expect the new one to also be widely available in the US. Are you waiting for the G Flex 2?
